Chibale (pron. chee bah lay)is the name of the drumming group made up of the children of Idakeda – Ajani Healy (9), Shomari Healy (9) and Kayode Charles (6).

Formed two years ago, Chibale will perform at its first professional gig later this month. The National Library has asked the group to perform at their Emancipation Celebrations later this month, to close the evening with a show of their skills in a drumology session. Ajani, Shomari and Kayode were trained by Master Drummer Gerard Hector, who hails from a family line of master drummers and who now lives in the United States teaching his craft to troubled youth. Chibale will be joined on stage by veteran drummer Everald 'Redman' Watson, known in performance and drumming circles for the past thirty years.

Chibale is an Egyptian word meaning kinship i.e. related by blood ties. Contact Idakeda to book Chibale for your events at 868-638-1553 or info@idakedagroup.com.
