Obelisk Communications is a Cultural Events Management company, committed to providing clients with exciting and alternative approaches to achieving their communication objectives.

Founded on the idea that Cultural Heritage is the key to personal and organisational transformation, the principals at Obelisk work to ensure that all events and projects reflect excellence and tangible results.

 Principals of Obelisk

 Dara E. Healy, Managing Director

Ms. Healy is an experienced and qualified communications specialist, who has worked as a writer, journalist and television producer throughout the Caribbean region. Her skills encompass a range of Public Relations competencies including:

-          Event Management

-          Media Relations

-          Community Outreach programmes

-          Training and Development (Senior Management, Community Workers and Students)

Her performance and practical theatre skills impact on the strategic approach decision-making process at Obelisk, as she is able to blend these with her passion for and experience in Public Relations.

 Eintou Pearl Springer, Creative Force

Eintou Pearl Springer, former Poet Laureate of Spain and national awardee for her contribution to Culture, is the main Creative Consultant for Obelisk. She is an award winning actress, a cultural activist and a traditional storyteller, who also creates original stories in the folk traditions of Trinidad and Tobago.

Ms. Springer is the inspiration for the original cultural events managed by Obelisk. She is a walking encyclopaedia of the culture of Trinidad and Tobago, not at a surface level, but deep within the communities. Our projects are the end result of her vision and her visceral understanding of the ability of our culture to effect change.

Dara E. Healy B.Sc.(Hons)
Managing Director

Ms. Healy is the Founder of the IDAKEDA Group and the Managing Director of Obelisk Communications, one of its member companies.
She has been involved in the field of Communications for the past fifteen years. Her experience is local, regional and international, and spans organisations such as the United Nations, the Non-Governmental Community, Community Based Organisations, the banking and financial sectors and the corporate community.

Professional Experience

Ms. Healy has extensive Corporate Communications experience working with and advising Senior Management at major corporations in Trinidad and Tobago.

As Manager, Corporate Communications at a number of companies, she has been responsible for organisational reputation and internal employee relations, working with her staff to implement corporate strategies areas including:

§      Event Management

§      Community Outreach programmes

§      Public Information/Advertising/Agency Management

§      Internal Publications

§      Speech Writing

§      Auditorium and Conference facilities

§      Department administration and budget

 A former journalist, newspaper columnist and producer for television and radio, Ms. Healy has used these skills to design information campaigns for both private organisations and government agencies.

As a writer she has used her ability to disseminate core messages and craft statements for leaders of private entities, political leaders and key regional personalities. As a television producer and on-camera presenter, she has worked extensively throughout the Caribbean region producing programmes for local, regional and international audiences.

 Training and Development

As a lecturer in Public Relations, Ms. Healy has a successful track record of working with students and she has developed training programmes for Senior Management and Public Relations professionals. She has trained Community Groups to disseminate key messages in a cost effective and impactful way.

Ms. Healy holds a first degree is in Law and Political Science and she holds post-graduate qualifications in International Relations and Public Relations. She has lectured in Public Relations at various local academic institutions, she has been a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations and is currently a member of the Public Relations Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

Through her work with IDAKEDA, Ms. Healy interacts with 'at risk' youth and women in difficult and challenging circumstances. Additionally, her volunteer work includes the Chairmanship of the Laventille based Morris Marshall Development Foundation’s Fund-Raising Committee.

She is an artist, poet and author, the mother of twin boys and is committed to sound family values and social mores.
